So, in recognition of this momentous occasion, we look back at the highlights that have kept Paramount thriving throughout the years with special insights from directors and staff members.

Wow, 18 years!!!! What an amazing journey so far - we have grown from working out of the smallest box office we could lease (with just a phone and great ambitions), to now being a global player in a truly ‘life changing’ sector. A massive thank you to past and present colleagues who have helped make Paramount a global brand! We are still incredibly ambitious and with the plans we have there will be many more exciting times ahead!!
Eugene our Director/President adds:
It’s a fascinating journey from starting in a small 4-man office with reconditioned PC’s, to where we are today, having two offices in Birmingham, UK and in Cambridge, Massachusetts in the US. During this time, we have moved into 8 different offices as the company has grown and the need for space has increased. That’s the exciting part of a business for me, adapting evolving, innovating, growing and learning with the people we work with. There have been so many people in the past and present who have helped us get where we are today and as an organisation, we are extremely grateful for their passion and input into helping us create Paramount Recruitment.
Our core values have stayed the same during this time, but we now provide a whole host of services on a global scale whilst still remaining focussed on the core market we started in 18 years ago.
We’ve worked with 90% of the top 10 global pharma companies on multiple projects. We’ve placed candidates in the following countries: UK, USA, Switzerland, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Ireland, Belgium, Italy, France, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Australia, Spain, Netherlands, Qatar and Canada!
Most noticeably, in 2013 our work with Genomics England, helped source relevant candidates to work on the innovative and ground-breaking 100,000 genomes project. This was a four-year movement to sequence the full genomes of 100,000 volunteers with rare diseases. Any new disease-to-gene links discovered by the project was then utilised by the NHS in the provision of better health care, essentially offering a taste of a future where gene sequences make up a conventional part of the nation’s health records. This was a huge honour for us to work with Genomics England on this project.
Jessica Guyon has been with Paramount for over 10 years, making her our longest serving member. She says:
Over the last 10 years I have seen lots of changes at Paramount including new offices, new markets and an increase in international recruitment. However, what I have liked is that we have continued to have great teams and an excellent work culture.
One of the big things for me is that we have a supportive work environment and flexibility which has allowed me to balance work and being a mum.
During late 2018 Paramount officially opened its second office in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This was dedicated to the needs of clients and candidates working in the US genomics and healthcare communications industries. Located on 210 Broad Street, Cambridge MA, it is situated right in the heart of the city’s life sciences and educational community.
Jade Page, who help set up the US office says:
It has been such an exciting, crazy journey expanding our business into the US since 2018, with many challenges and rewards along the way! We had some fantastic relationships already with partners from many years of work in Europe, but we also worked hard to establish a brand-new network in the dynamic biotech industry in Boston. The first challenges, like for any small business thrown in a 'big pond', were to build up our reputation in such a fast moving and competitive market. Those that know us know our style of recruiting is more suited to senior recruitment or challenging hires, so it was important for us to find companies that could value from this level of service and support. Which we were so pleased to find! Many of these companies have become long term partners for us now and we are thrilled to be part of their progress.
We've continued our same vision of maintaining a diverse portfolio across retained and contingent support and being flexible to what our client needs from us. I love being involved with young-medium sized companies where we can really understand the business and make an impact.
We are growing our own team with new consultants to support more areas for our current clients especially in drug discovery and data science. The pressure points for companies are always changing so it is important we stay up to date with where we are needed most and offering more than CV's.
For three consecutive years, we’ve undertaken research into our key sectors. Our findings provide an invaluable insight into the salaries, benefits, views and challenges and allow us to identify future demand for skills in the sectors we recruit for.
